Royal Variety Performance 2012

A few weeks ago I had the absolute privilege of being cordially invited to the 2012 Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall.  This annual event held in honour of Her Majesty The Queen was due to take place on Monday 19th November, and it was not just any Royal Variety Performance – it was the very special 100th anniversary show!   With a star studded line-up and exclusive guest list I was set to be amongst some of Britain’s finest ladies and gentlemen, guests of the Royal family and various other VIPs. I couldn’t believe my luck when I was informed I’d been allocated four tickets!  Naturally I took my parents, the two people I am closest to and who have cared for me all these years. I also took my beautiful friend Ruth, who is another huge supporter of mine and deserved the special treat as well.  We had the most incredible evening, all of us girls looked lovely in our black evening gowns and Dad looked cool in his black dickie bow and suit. Mum, Ruth and I pushed the boat out and had our make-up and hair done professionally. I had also purchased a brand new gown especially for the night, a stunning Forever Unique Brava dress which begged for a glamorous hair-up ‘do.  I felt all emotional and patriotic when Her Majesty the Queen made her grand entrance into the Royal Albert Hall.  She looked so adorable in her sparkly outfit and I’d never seen her in the flesh before so the anticipation all added to it.  The show went off with a bang and all the acts excelled themselves! My favourite performers on the night were Robbie Williams, Placido Domingo and Katherine Jenkins duetting, the Diversity dance troupe, and the legend that is Neil Diamond. I cannot wait to see the whole show aired on ITV early next month!  Take a look at a few of our photos from the evening.  I’ve put them in a nice little slideshow…
